My son get's eczema from cats, his eyes swell shut and he gets red itchy scales on his body, what to do?

I dont own a cat, but all his friends do, his father has terrible sinusitis and my dad and brother has severe asthma, I am ok.
Answer:
Take your son to see an allergy Dr. Zyrtec, which is an allergy medication is Great for people who have allergies to cats and dogs. Singulair is also another one that is really good as well. You do need a prescription for both of these though, so you will need to take him to the Dr.
It's likely an allergy....see your doc or allergist. Keep him away from cats in the meantime...if his eyes swell that bad, his throat may too causing suffocation. SEE A DOC NOW
Try to keep him away from cats but when impossible try some Benadryl it should help but may not get rid of all of his symptoms. A prescripion would probably be best so have his pediatrician check him out.
I hate to state the obvious but your son needs to stay out of his friends house until you see a doctor. Maybe his friends can come to your house. Perhaps, if his Dr says it's OK, he can be give benadryl before he goes to his friends house, but this shouldn't be done like everyday, only for special occasions like a birthday party or something. Ask your doctor, they'll be able to help you with this better than anyone. Good luck.
I have eczema, but I dont get it from cats. I used Eucerin lotion, or any type of lotion that says it helps, because I can put it on and it does help. So, maybe keep the lotion on, make sure he washes right when he gets home from his friends house, if it does get too bad, maybe have the friends over for a few days, because if you can control it, it isn't so bad.
