Peanut allergy reactions?

I have severe peanut allergy and I am trying to get the word out about how severe peanut allergies are. I am looking for stories about peanut allergy reactions? Mild - Severe - Death of a loved one. I would like to use these stories to get the word out as most of the public does not take this very seriously.... I personally react to smell, trace and I was told by many doctors that if I eat a peanut I will not even come close to making it to the hospital..... even with the help of my 4 epi-pens
Answer:
As a nurse I have seen many people come into emergency with life threatening peanut allergy reactions...its is a very serious problem.
Nut allergies suck because nuts are in so many foods, both at restaraunts and in processed foods, that they're hard to avoid. Once I celebrated Thanksgiving at a friend's house. They served the turkey, which was fried, and we sat down to eat. I took one bite of the turkey and my throat began to burn and itch. I looked at the host and asked what they fried the turkey in. She knew I was allergic to peanuts. Her eyes suddenly got big as she realized that she had fried the turkey in peanut oil. Luckily for me, I had only had one small bite of the turkey and I had my epi-pen with me.
My son is allergic to peanuts. Thankfully we have not had a huge reaction (as he has NEVER eaten a peanut. Allergy was found by testing.)That being said, he had a contact reaction a few months ago. His hand turned bright red. Only Benedryl was needed.I carry a couple of epi-pens just in case, as he is also allergic to dairy and my youngest has food allergies.
I have a grand daughter who is also allergic to peanuts. It is difficult to live with. But thank g-d it is not anything more serious.

PCOS is holding me back from getting pregnant?

What can i do other than taking fertility pills from the doctor, to get pregnant and i have pcos?
Answer:
Try chartign your basal body temperature. If you google it you will find a lot of info on it.
They say an HSG often will increase your odss in teh follwoign few cycles but that didnt work for me. Going on the pill for a few cycles will not only regulate your cycles for a bit, it will also shrink any cysts so that when you first come off of them you may have a few "normal cycles" before teh cysts start developgin again.
I have PCOS, and I know I would conceive if I lost weight, are you overweight?
Perhaps a reproductive endocrinologist can prescribe some bio-identical progesterone.
"Natural progesterone should be the basis of PCOS treatment, along with attention to stress, exercise, and nutrition."
Hope it can help.
First let me start by saying, I have PCOS and have two beautiful children, so it can be done!
You need to make sure to take care of your blood sugar if you are insulin resistant. Make sure you have a doctor who listens and explains everything to you. I had trouble concieving my second child.... they are 9 years apart, and I finally found a doctor who knew more about my disorder than I did. (I spent day online researching) I started seeing him and within 3 months he could tell when I ovulated (during menses) and that I had some internal issues as well. He did a little outpatient suegery and "cleaned me up" he drilled my cysts and zapped out some scar tissue. Three months later he told me to try to get pregnant... first try.Make sure you tell your doctor how important this is to you, and if he's not willing to help, find another doc who is.

PCOS and thyroid gland is there a connection?

Answer:
Yes, there seems to be a connection. Many womem who have PCOS also have hypothyroidism.....myself included. Link below about the connection
No, polycystic ovary syndrome is genetic.
While there doesn't seem to be a cause and effect, women with PCOS are much more likely to suffer from autoimmune thyroid disorders.
Black Cat, type (PCOS Thyroid Gland) in your search bar, Include the parentheses. It will give you a lot of info or places to look on your question. Hope these sites are of some help to you.
I would try to summarize this information for you. But I do not know exactly what type of info you want.

Parts of my nose have been red for a long time. How do I fix it?

I have blackheads and i use scrubs, but Even when I don't the sides of my nose are red. What do i do?
Answer:
First if you have black heads it's caused by clogged pores. Use a pot of boiling water with a lid. Put a towel over your head and allow the steam from the pot to make your face sweat and drip so the pores are opened up, don't burn yourself. Then after it's stopped ,, the steam. Pat the face dry, never rub your face when washing or drying. Then splash with cool water to close the pores. This will help the clogged pores. Now the red nose, make sure to wash with witch hazel every night, dab not rub then pat dry. Never go out in the cold with a damp face. Then use a good sunscreen in winter and summer on the whole face but especially on the nose. It should have zinc in it. At night put on a dab of antibiotic ointment and if it persists after all this for three weeks and is not getting better, see a DR. it may need an RX. cream.
You may have rosacea. See a dermatologist.

Panic Attack Sufferers!!! I am having left arm pain and very slight chest discomfort....?

Has anyone had this before with a panic attack? By the way it comes and goes with lightheadedness and nausia but never turns into a full blown panic attack. It has been happening for the past few hours. Sometimes it's just arm pains. Has this happened to any of you?
Answer:
Those are symptoms of heart attack and stroke. Maybe it is just a panic attack but better safe than sorry. Very calmly get yourself to a hospital... now.
Left arm and chest pain can be symptoms of a heart attack. I recommend getting to the ER ASAP! They will do a blood test and an EKG. Only they can tell you if it's a panic attack or a heart attack.
yes
you are having panic attacks and possibly anxiety attacks
the pain you are having could be angina see a DR
I didn't notice if you are a man or woman but you need to go to the ER for sure. They say woman's heart pain is different than men's some times. I have a heart problem that was getting worse and all I had was this terrible pain in my arm pit. I thought panic attack as I've had some but it was not. Don't mess around.
panic attack or Heart attack?... I think those are symptoms of a hear attack or problem, ask your Dr.
good luck

Pancreatitis (ouch it hurts), have just come out of hospital and wonder is anybody knows?

what foods in particular can help cure this problem, i have been told low fat diet, nothing spicy etc and no alcohol and to go back in six weeks for another scan when hopefully it wil have lost its inflammation! are there any particular super foods to help or are there any herbal remedies that can help, in fact any advice would be welcome, I have been given no specific medication except for painkillers and as said have to go extremenly low fat, no alcohol and gentle foods, any specific vitamins, any specialists or doctors, nurses or suffererers even, help me get rid if this pleeeeeeeze! extreme pain now gone so am on the mend thankyou if you reply
Answer:
My husband lost two thirds of his in an attack by a violent individual and has had bouts of pancreatitis since. The surgeon told him to practise what he could and what he could not eat and drink. Most of the experts said no alcohol but try it and if there is a reaction then no. He has been fine for 20 years with his little bit, even though he still drinks profusely twice a week.. Try it and see.
You are lucky to be alive. I had a cousin that wasn't so lucky. She thought she had the flu...got to the hospital too late. Call your Drs. office and see if they can direct you to a nutritionist. Those folks specialize in making sure you get the proper education about your particular diet.
My dad had problems with that and my husband studied foot reflexology and rubbed his feet and now he is fine. Look up a reflexologinst in your area or research where you can rub your onwn feet. Also, walking on rocks can rub all parts of your feet at once. You'll be surprized how it really affects you.I had Galstones and the doctors say you can't get rid of them without surgery. Well they're gone now with out surgery or medicine. And my husband put me into labor by rubbing my feet. My Grandpa was 91 and had pnemonia and 2 blood clots, one in the brain. And my husband rubbed his feet for 2 days and the Doctors couldn't belive that he was fine. He was supposed to die within days and lived for 2 more years.
I've had it, the pain was so severe I carried pethadone tablets with me for if I had an attack. I eventually went into hospital where they put the camera down my throat and scraped my pancreas and liver tubes out. That cured it but I suffered for 3 years before it was finally diagnosed. The doctor said to describe the pain, I told him if I was walking down the road and the pain came on, and if I didn't have a tablet I'd throw myself under a bus. That's when he realised what I had. There is no other pain like it.
Had it 3 times, now 50, chronic pancreatitis is very painful I know, but been alcoholic 30 odd, presume its alcohol related, always ate as normal, just eat more, dont condone alcohol, just like a drink, problem I had was drinking without food, beware, it can kill you,
I would say be careful about eating Citrus Fruit or any RAW Tomatoes The Acid in them might cause you a lot of Pain. I was recovering from Gall Bladder Surgery and any time I ate a lot of Fruit especially Tomatoes and Oranges it drove my Stomach Mad with Pain. Now 6 years later I dont eat a lot of Citrus Fruit. They thought I had Pancreatitis at First. Good Luck.
Just follow the doctors advice.

Pancreas transplant?

Is it possible for a diabetic to request a pancreas transplant? Just curious if there is a waiting list and legal procedure for such a surgery for diabetics.
Answer:
As someone who's actually been through it, I can tell you a little about it. First thing is to discuss it with youtr endocrinologist, then locate the transplant centers in your area and make appointments for evaluation. They usually do a cursory physical, take a bit of blood, speak with a social worker, meet some of the stadff involved in the procedure. You'll probably also get a list of further testing you'll need to have completed before they can finish their evaluation. Typically, though, pancreas transplants are only done on type 1 diabetics, and are done in conjunction with kidney transplants, whether simultaneously with the kidney (called SPK), or what's called PAK (Pancreas After Kidney), for those who have received kidney transplants because of their diabetes. The reasoning behind it is that the transplantd pancreas can stave off the degenerative effects of diabetes, and protect the transplanted kidney, and the patient is already going to be on the immunosuppressive medications because of the kidney transplant. Also keep in mind that this is NOT a cure for diabetes, either; it's a surgical form of treatment. The transplanted organs are still under strain of your immune system, despite the immunouppresive medications, and will eventually die off from chronic rejection. Not treally sure if there are any (or many) centers that will do just an isolated pancreas transplant, though, but it's always worth finding out about. Islet cell transplantation is also being studied, but early clinical studies have not been very promising, with only a 15% success rate of insulin independence after 5 years. And, even in the case of islet cell transplantation, patients are still required to take the immunosuppressive medications, to prevent rejection. Best of luck! Hope this helps!
request awayit's still experimentalthey have taken animals and transplanted pancreatic cells (essentially just sucking up the cells and squirting them into the new animal) and it seems to be working to some degreeWow! Wiki says the first one was in 1966! Maybe you can. You'd have to go via the transplant board and meet the usual criteria then.
yes, it's more than possible.....I know someone who had one, and is doing OK.don't know about the legal stuff, or anything else.....just wanted to let you know that yes, they are doing those transplants these days.
You can request one. You'll be turned down flat though. Diabetes is treatable with insulin or tablets %26 you can live a long life with it.A pancreas transplant will last at best 10 years, during which time you'll be on drugs which wipe out your immune system.Don't be silly, have your shots like a good boy
You can ask but I don't think they will do it as it is still experimental. To me, having to take all those anti rejection drugs would outweigh any benefits from a new pancreas which might be rejected at any time - then what do you do without a pancreas? Rejection drugs are the worst. I saw plenty of problems with them when I worked for the Kidney Foundation; you do not want to go there.Diet and medications are a lot easier than undergoing all that stuff.
they do them all the time.the same motorcycle accident that got me a liver gave some one the pancress..2 yrs ago.. talk to your DR or go to nearst University hospital.
Pancreas transplants are only done when a kidney transplant is needed. It is far too risky to be on anti-rejection drugs than it is ti use insulin .
There are studies that show that simply transplanting the islet cells may work much better.
Good question.

Palpitations?

what do palpitations indicate please? thnx
Answer:
This Topic might help you understanding of your symptom:Heart palpitations are sensations that feel like pounding or racing. Sometimes it feels like your heart skipped or stopped beats. Palpitations can be felt in your chest, throat, or neck.If you have heart palpitations, you should contact your doctor to make sure it is not caused by a serious condition. Your doctor will perform tests to determine the cause and whether the heart palpitations are treatable or not.Heart palpitations are also called: * Heartbeat sensations
* Irregular heartbeat
* Palpitations
* Rapid heart rate
* Racing heart
* TachycardiaWhat Causes Heart Palpitations? There are many causes of heart palpitations. The most common causes are: * Exercise
* Anxiety
* Stress
* Heart Disease
* Caffeine
* Nicotine
* Cocaine
* Diet pills
* Hyperventilation
* Overactive thyroid
* Anemia
* Low levels of oxygen in your blood
* Medications
* Mitral valve prolapseCan Heart Palpitations be Prevented?Whether or not heart palpitations can be prevented will depend on the cause. Reducing stress and anxiety can help lessen your heart palpitations.Emergency SymptomsCall your doctor immediately if: * You have fainted or someone you are with loses consciousness.
* You have shortness of breath, chest pain, unusual sweating, dizziness, or lightheadedness.
* You feel frequent extra heartbeats
* You have risk factors for heart disease like high cholesterol, diabetes, or high blood pressure.
* You have new or different heart palpitations.
* Your pulse is more than 100 beats per minute (without exercise)
Palpitations can indicate many things. It could be from too much caffine or you could possibly have a heart rhythm disorder. I was just recently diagnosed with SupraVentricular Tachycardia. It is a heart rhythm disorder where your heart beats irregular. Your best bet is to see a doctor about these palpitations. There are many things that can cause palpitations. Check out Webmd.com and type in heart palpitations. It may be helpful to you. It was for me. By the way, my conditions was only able to be diagnosed with an event monitor which I recorded the palpitations. Good luck to you.
I get heart palpitations. I have what is called Mytral Valve Regurgitation. It is when the blood pumps into your like normal mine spits half it back out. It is not life threatening as of yet. Most women get palpitations and it is fine and nothing is wrong. Stress can do that also. Eat right and at least take walks for exercise. You really don't need to do strenuous exercise to be in shape. If you are concerned with it go to the doctor and get it checked. I had an ultrasound done on my heart. Painless and fast. I have heart problems that run in my family, check with people in your family if there are any problems. It could also be a prolapse in the valve. My sister has that. If the palpitations become to much they have medicine to help it. I don't take anything for mine, just watching my diet and walking when I can. Hope this helps.
palpitation means awareness of heart beats, usually due to anaemia ,anxiety .... but can be due to abnormal rhythm.

Palpable mass?

I have to go for an xray of my mandible, for a palpable mass near my ear on my left side..It also says on the rx about TMJ and something else I cant read anyone have any help for me Im a bit worried
Answer:
I am not exactly sure why you are getting a simple x-ray if it is really a suspicious palpable mass that your doctor is evaluating, I would think a CT scan would be more appropriate. I guess it depends upon what the mass is like and how high is the level of suspicion, of course I can't tell by your description. The area that you describe may have other things than TMJ going on. A benign adenoma (non-cancerous tumor) of the parotid gland may also be seen at the same location. (Parotid gland is one of the salivary glands, one on either side lying under the ear over the sides of the jaw). A swollen lymph node may be a possibility too. A plain x-ray would only pick up problems with the bony structures of the jaw, it would not tell you if the mass is a lymph node or an adenoma or anything else.By the way, if you were wondering what TMJ is, its the Temporomandibular Joint, the joint that joins your jaw to your skull; it is the hinge joint that opens your mouth, and swelling or degenerative changes in that joint can cause pain or clicking when you open your mouth.
The details you added do not add much to the discussion. The thyroid cysts do not seem to be a big issue, many people have insignificant thyroid cysts. Blood tests will tell if your thyroid is overactive or not. Once again, I am not sure how an xray will help with diagnosing these cysts or whatever they are. I would just follow what your doctor is recommending as he is the one who examined you and probably has an idea of whats going on.
I'm sure they want to rule out TMJ (you'll find the link below). It's nothing to be really concerned about as it is not a cancer.
http://www.tmj.org/You may just have a swollen lymph node of which they may need to biopsy. You shouldn't worry as you have not yet had a difinitive diagnosis. There are many things it could be that, with treatment, will correct itself.

Palmer's cocoa butter on acne scars?

does anyone know if Palmer's cocoa butter formula works on reducing the colour of acne scars? does it make existing acne worse? should i mix it with tea tree oil or some other acne moisturizer just to make sure? i am working really hard to clear up my face..and i just dont want it to get any worse..those of you with acne can understand.
i am taking vitamin E and C orally...i am too scared to rub vitamin E on my face because it is so greasy
Answer:
I bought "Acne Free Clear Skin Treatment" about a month ago, i used to have terrible acne scars from the outbreaks i had when i was a teenager! And they're almost completely faded, and i haven't had one pimple since, it says it takes about two weeks to work but it is definitely worth it. I got it for 15 dollars at wal mart, so it's not bad in price either. Everyones skin is different so i don't know how it'll react with yours but it's worked wonders on me and is definitely worth a shot, it also claims to even out skin tone which is what i think you're going for. As for the cocoa butter i haven't personally tried it but used to use it for stretch marks from when i was pregnant and yeah it is greasy i couldn't imagine putting it on my face.
NO COCOA BUTTER ON YOUR FACE
Its just as bad as vitamin e. It is going to clog your pores unless it says it won't. Are you treating existing acne yet? Try proactive or some kind of regiment to keep your skin clear. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER and wash your face with cold water to keep pores tight. Finally, once you are cleared up you can save up and get lazer treatment to treat existing scars. Either that or find a high end - clarins - bleaching cream.
I have never had acne, but I would say a definite no. It is very oily and would only cause problems. I don't really know what you would use to reduce the acne scars. Sorry.
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula was recommended to me by my physical therapist to use when massaging neck and shoulder muscles. I am not acne prone, but I have noticed that I do have minor break outs when I use it daily.Wanted to add...........Try a good quality aloe vera. This stuff is amazing at healing skin and it is inexpensive. You can get it in vitamin and health food stores. I have however seen it in Walmart, but Im not sure about its purity.
NO cocoa butter. I would def do microdermabrasion to help with the scars. I know work at a dermatology and this is what he does once the acne has been cleared

Pain in my left hand side after drinking?

I get numb hot pain in my left hand side between my ribs and my pelvis after drinking. It has been getting progresively worse for the last couple of years. I have had tests for water infections, ultra sound on my kidney and cell counts. The pain seemed to be at the back to start with but is now more at the side and front. It settles down after about a week but as soon as i have alcohol again it triggers it off. I am 39 and do not want to give up drinking as i enjoy a glass of wine or three with my wife. Please sensible answers only.
Answer:
If it's only drinking alcohol that causes the pain - then it would be a good idea to change your drink to something non-alcoholic. That would be the most sensible thing. Then go and see your doctor and ask for their opinion. If you feel like you absolutely cannot give it up - then please do ask for help. You don't need to be a drunkard to have a problem with alcohol -- sometimes even a tiny little bit is too much for some people to handle. Your body obviously doesn't like it anymore, even if your brain is telling you otherwise. Listen to your body. Take notice when it's trying to tell you something is wrong. Don't let it become a problem. You don't need alcohol to have fun. Honest! :-)
This could be a problem with you pancreas or possibly a kidney stone. You need to be further evaluated by you doctor.
sry to hear that. This actually could be serious.....go to a hospital and check in for an appointment. It could come to a point where u might need surgery...all i can say is that good luck :)
Well my first thought was your heart because you said it was on the left side, but you described it as being lower down. Also if you went for those tests I presume the doctors would have covered that idea.
Perhaps you should change doctors and go for a trial and error thing. Like over a month or two monitor a particular organ or theory until each expecting the answer is crossed out.
Could it possibly be your Liver? Maybe its failing or you have a liver condition.
Perhaps you are drinking bad quality wine?
Perhaps your body doesn't like or is allergic to the tannin?
Does this pain happen with only wine or with all alcohol, is it only white or red wine?
Could you change to beer? Because beer usually has the third alcohol content than wine does.I hope this helps.
go 2 the hospital, could b very serious, especially if ur drinking 3 glasses of wine at a time
It sounds as though you are getting gastritis from the alcohol. You could also have GERD, which is terribly aggravated by alcohol. If you have either of those conditions, the only thing you can do to completely alleviate the pain is stop drinking. If you're not willing to do that, you'll have to suffer with the pain until the inflammation eats through your mucous membrane. Then you'll no longer be able to eat or drink much of anything and your problem will be solved. ;)Be sensible...stop drinking if it causes you pain.

Oxygen concentrator???

My father has one big one, and two houses, he's unable to carry it back and forth, is it illegil to order one directly?
Answer:
you need a drs. prescription, plus do you knwo how expensive concentrators are out of pocket? dont' take a risk by getting some old used one. your insurance should be able to work something out with a hiomecare provider that will get a nice concentrator with regular safety checks as well...
Check with a medical supply rental shop. They should be able to know if you can buy one outright. I wouldn't think that it would be illegal, but who knows nowadays.
Yes, it's illegal. It's medical equipment. Tell your dad to talk to his home care co.--maybe they can offer a solution.
Call your home care provider and ask for another set up.They know what he needs and has the precription on fileWhen I travel they set one up for me. at no charge

Out of nowhere acne?

i am 30 and am all of a sudden having a terrible problem with acne. i have not changed any makeup, facial stuff, etc. always use hypoallergenic and oil free things on my face. i normally get a couple around the "fun" time of the month, but it clears up real fast. these are appearing all over my face and some on my chest. they are big...not just a simple blackhead. i am getting depressed just looking at my face. (have already tried things like practive with no luck) any ideas what is happening to me or how to treat it?
Answer:
Proactive won't help with what you're experiencing, which sounds like cystic acne. I understand how you feel. I had enviably clear skin all my life until I was about 27. Apparently it's not just the hormone changes of adolescence that can cause acne, it's ones throughout your life. I tried many things, including Proactive and Ortho-TriCyclen (to let you know the breadth). I was offered Accutane by a doctor, but I was worried about side effects. I've found that if you go to your dermatologist, you will most likely be able to work out the best options for you. Most likely that will include some oral antibiotics (I'm allergic to most but highly recommend the practice. My doctor gives me cephalexin, but yours will probably try a tetracycline antibiotic. For current bad cysts, she may inject a corticosteroid solution into them and/or drain them to help clear them up and lessen scarring. And she'll probably recommend a face regime tailored to what she sees going on with your particular skin---it varies, so I couldn't tell you how that would be apart from the fact it will probably include a topical antibiotic and/or a retinoid and/or salicylic acid or benzoil peroxide treatments. My skin has gotten a lot better, and I credit some of that to switching to mineral powder cosmetics. I use Monave. http://www.monave.com/ The concealing foundation has great coverage, even for large, red zits, but the makeup is also actually good for your skin. It soothes it and doesn't clog it up more. I often accidentally fall asleep wearing it and it's usually as nothing different happened. I think it's a bargain as well, but I have seen a discount brand, everydayminerals, recommended by some people also. I love Monave, though, and you can try a sample for $10 (the everydayminerals place has mini-samples for $3). I also use an oil-free moisturizer with just a couple of drops of jojoba oil, which I have read about as being the best choice for acne-prone skin. I'm sorry that my biggest advice is to visit a doctor, because I know that many people (like me) don't have health insurance. But I think you'll find that a doctor vist and a few doctor-prescribed products will cost less in the long run than two years of tears and trying every drugstore product you can find. Good luck!
If Pro Active isn't doing any good, then it may be a hormone issue. Doesn't matter what time of the month it is. All I can say is "good luck" because my daughter has tried EVERYTHING except prescription medications to battle her acne. You can either consult a dermatologist or maybe first thing to do is have a professional facial done at a spa. A facial should only cost about $40-$50 and the skin care specialist may be able to help you without you having to pay for a doctor's visit and all that comes with it. By the way, if you have changed birth control pill prescriptions lately, this could be the culprit. Sometimes it takes a couple of months for your body to adjust, and sometimes you just have to try another pill. My daughter is taking Yasmin, and we finally found a pill that doesn't work against her acne problem, making it harder to treat.

Out of Arbonne International, Murad and Proactive Solution, which is the best skincare 4 acne?

Answer:
None of them! The best is the acne products from beeroyalproducts.com. They are the only ones with four different acne fighters in their products. They don't use benzoyle peroxide like the others do. They also have special moisturizers for acne prone skin.
Arbonne International's Clear Advantage gives amazing results. There are before and after pictures on the website.
I've copied what it says about the clear advantage system for you to read.
I never tried murad but proactive was too harsh for my skin.

If you have questions, you may certainly e-mail me!

Our chemical exposure?

there are strong scientific suspicions that
some of the chemicals found in the environment, including those used in cosmetics and
other personal care items, might increase the risk of developing breast cancer, especially
if there is heavy exposures before the age of 25. ......can I hear your opinion guys about it?
Answer:
There is no conclusive scientific evidence to support the claim that cosmetics or personal care items increase the risk of breast cancer. There do appear to be more than a few hoaxes, chain letters, and rumors however:Rumor: Lipstick and Lead
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/med/conten...Rumor: Shampoo
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/med/conten...Rumor: Antiperspirants and Breast Cancer Risk
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/med/conten...Email Hoaxes and Chain Mail
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/med/med_6_...
It can be anything kind of cancer, not just breast cancer. There are a lot of reasons why cancer develops. One, of course, is the toxic overload, due to consuming unhealthy food and chemical exposures or the ingestion of heavy metals. Cancer does not happen overnight. It starts years before anyone displays signs of the disease. It is important to make sure that you adopt detoxifcation and preventative methods to minimise the presence of toxins in your body.
Most of this is rumor or urban legend for cosmetics etc.But it you were exposed to Benzene, worked in a chemical plant, pesticide industry, military bases, Nuke industry, or were sprayed with agent orange / around bunker 73 at Khamisiyah or other gulf sites you may have a higher risk for some types of cancer. But none of these have been 100% linked with cancer but there is some evidenceI have not heard of the "25 age thing" mostly from people with long term exposureJewells
36 months and still here

Other than common blood types A,B,O and AB, what other rare blood groups are there?

Answer:
ABO and Rh blood type distribution are: O+, A+, B+, AB+, O鈭? A鈭? B鈭? AB鈭? Of these AB- is the most rare. There are about 29 blood group systems that are currently recognized (including the ABO and Rh systems above). There are other antigens such as MNS, K, Leb, etc. These antigens are expressed on the RBC surface membrane. These other blood groups systems are usually named after the person who has that blood type. So, those are more rare than ABO and Rh by themselves.
Outside the ABO and Rh group there are hundreds of public and private blood types.
AB negative is pretty rare. thats it.
AB Negative is the rarest.
the negative (RH) blood types are the rarest
I'm sorry. I only know of one rare blood type an I'm not even sure if it is really negative AB. But here in the Philippines, actress Gelli De Belen has it. She's the only one.

Osteoarthritis?

I was in a car accident July 2005, and did a lot of damage to my knee. I have permanent patellar and meniscal tendonitis, and my meniscis is torn, but not enough for surgery. I'm in constant pain, and my doctor told me about a year ago that I would most likely end up with arthiritis in 10 - 20 years. At first I thought it wasn't right that he was assuming this is how it would end, but I'm slowly having more and more symptoms of osteoarthiritis. I'm only 19, and I'd rather not have this. Is there any way I can relieve this symptoms, and maybe push it off?
-weakness in the knee -'creaking' when bending -pain when held in one position for too long -pain from walking -can't run -pain when weather changes
Answer:
Yes, there are things you can do to keep osteoarthritis at bay. Low impact exercises such as swimming and yoga is a great way to stay flexible. Watch your weight, extra pounds will put stress on joints. I work out with weights(10-20LBS) Good muscle tone will reinforce the joints. Also, I believe a good mattress does wonders. I have a temperdic foam(memory foam). These things have kept me going for years. I hope you give this a try. Good luck.
I wish you luck with your doctors.I have osteoarthritis in my spine and in my hip or so the doctors say.My thing is is if I really have this why are the doctors just letting it go and not treating it.I am in pain all the time.
Aside from a knee replacement, the only thing you can do is to use a pain reliever, ice packs, etc.......

Organ donation?

I have a rare blood disease called mastocytosis and I was wondering if I can donate my organs or not? I have to many mast cells in my bone marrow and I don't kmow how it could affect my other organs.
Answer:
Contact a transplant center and ask. They have phone numbers for potential donors. I don't know. I would think that systemic (since its in your marrow) mastocytosis would make you ineligible, but the antirejection drugs may neutralize the problem.
I think your best option is to talk to your doctor.
no you can,t onec the bood is sick or if you use sertan pills like for nightmares then you can,t even donate blood for get of a blooddiorder i ask the red cross,or is it called the blood bank.
http://www.livingdonorsonline.org/...That's the best place to find out.
i would say no except for your corneas.
I would say probably not.I have placed a few links below that may be of help to you.

Operation from bowel cancer i was told all went well until i thought i was to get it reversed a leak showed?

can any one tell me what a leak is i was told it can be fixed but i am worried .
Answer:
There is alot of intestinal area for surgeons to cover and they are often working with sharp blades in a confined space. I do not know what happened in your case, but any surgery is a risk. Part of the risk involves the fact that a surgeon may knick an area unintentionally and cause a leak in the bowel. That is one of the things they look for during recovery. It is also possible that the cancer created a hole in the bowel and they missed it during surgery. I'm not really sure, so would suggest that you ask your surgeon directly. The good news is, if you have been told that it can be fixed than it probably can be fixed. Things happen. My sons left lung was accidentally punctured during surgery to place a central line. The surgeon said it was the first time he's ever done that. The lung collapsed, but than reflated by itself. They watched him a couple days and than he was fine. He never had any pain from it.I'm assuming you have a colostomy and will be having this reversed? Good luck to you!
basically they remove part of your plumbing system shorten it a bit and reconnect it , as in plumbing , yours spring a small leak needs stitching up ,nothing to worry about , done every day good luck
When the cancerous piece of the bowel is removed the two end bits are sewn together, it's called an anastamosis. Occasionaly a leak occurs, it's more of a nuisance, a set back, but it has to be repaired very quickly as contents of the bowel could be leaking into the peritoneum. the area outside the bowel but inside the body. A routine operation to the surgeon, but obviously not to you! It should not stop the reversal but it will delay it by about a month.

Open pores are making my life hell?

i'm 17, used 2 have acne thankfully it all cleared up long time back, but open pores are a major problem, they are all over my nose and around it,they look atrocious, how can i get rid of them completely? i have clear fair glowing complexion ,no other skin problem, skin type -little oily.
please help!!!
Answer:
Um, this sounds kind of gross, but it works.Preparation H helps shrink your skin and reduce the visibility of your pores. You need only a little bit to shrink them right up. You get alot more, alot cheaper, and more effective results than alot of other more expensive skin products out there. I've tried them all.I remember when I got the nerve to try it I got a really odd look from the woman at the check out counter, lol. So be prepared for that. I just pointed to her skin and said that it helps minimize wrinkles and makes your pores look smaller. She looked at me like I was even crazier.
There are lots of products out there to clean and tighten your pores. Biore makes several.

On-screen smoking???

e.g. i am a former heavy smoker. there must be numerous stage/screen stars in similar circumstances. so if the part, character requires them to smoke do they use substances other than nicotine? after all every ex-smoker knows how difficult it was to kick the habit and it may well require only a puff or two to become addicted again
Answer:
When I have been in plays where a character had to smoke , and the part was played by a non smoker, they used 'herbal' cigarettes - which were apparently so disgusting that the actors were tempted to use the real thing instead!
they have props that look like the real thing and even gives off smoke using vegetable oil and a battery.
Alright first try better grammar. It's hard to udnerstand what you're asking. Anyways, you might have built tolerance, but chances are if you take more puffs you'll get re-addicted.
First of all stop the smoking. and then ask.
unsure of the answer but two really stupid answers-one regarding grammar ,where that particular gentleman can't spell or punctuate, the other hasn't read the question properly where the asker has stated "former heavy smoker".will ponder the question some more.

ONLY FOR GIRLS:fluids comming out?

fluids come out of my private n i have no idea what i have do i have like an std or something but im a virgin sooooo ???
Answer:
It could be due to a variety of things.
We don't have enough info here to tell you, so please see your Dr. ASAP.
Good luck.
Ok, so if you are a virgin, it can't be a venereal disease, so it just could be some other minor infection. Go see your doctor. If you are shy about that, find yourself a lady doctor.
does it have color or have an odor to it? Some fluid that comes out is that of a gel consistency, which is normal. If you are a virgin then its definitely not an std.
First, try talking with your mom or another trusted adult female. You don't mention if you have your period yet, but in between periods, girls/women have an increase in fluidIf this is the first time you've ever had something like this happen, you should go to Planned Parenthood or other doctor. It could be anything from a yeast infection (very common) to bacterial vaginosis.
for the " fluids " you are referring to , needs abit more description yea ? but anyway , i believe the fluid you refering to is whitish . it is a discharge from girls' vagina . this is normal , so , no worries ((: furthermore , one of STD's symptoms doesnt include fluids from vagina . if there is , it is only infection caused by bacteria which you will need to consult a doctor then . so , i can tell you , it is definitely not STD ((:if you really feel something is not right , then you might want to consult a doctor to relieve yourself ((:
if it's clear, then your normal. This happens to a lot because it's just a moisturizing measure that is naturally produced (sucks, I know). If it's something darker, or stinky, then I would suggest you go to to your gyno and she will be able to tell and give you some antibiotics.
If you're a virgin it's unlikely you'll have any sort of infection at all. You definitely can't have an STD. At worst you might have a yeast infection or something, but these also aren't common among virgins. A certain amount of mucous coming out is completely normal.Clues that there's something wrong are:
- If it's really watery (if that's why you call it a fluid!), so that it actually drips down when you stand up.
- There's LOTS of it, like enough that it makes more than a little 1 inch wide spot on your underwear every day.
- It's a colour other than clear, white or very light cream/yellow. If it's greenish or grayish it's almost definitely an infection!
- It smells bad or fishy. If none of the above describe it, and there's no itching or other uncomfortable symptoms, it's normal! Otherwise you can wait and see if it goes away, and if you're worried or bothered by it then you should see a doctor.Incidentally if you're just around the puberty age and either haven't had your period yet or JUST got it, then it's probably a completely natural change in your privates!
if it dont smell dont worry about it, if it smell than go to the doctor

Only answer from experience please?

My daughter just had patch testing done. She tested positive for colophony, quaternium-15, black rubber mix, and ethylenediamine dihydrochlorice (EDD). The first two are found in pretty much every product made for your skin including cosmetics, lotion, soap, shampoo, moisturizers, detergent, cleansers, sunscreen, adhesives, all evergreen trees, and even chewing gum. I already checked all our household items and most had these ingredients. I need someone with experience here to give me ideas on how to start helping my daughter. How do I begin to deal with this?Oh and by the way, she is only six.
Answer:
there are a slew of natural products out there.
i, personally use products from a company called melaleuca.
they have a website.
they have products from chewing gum to toothpaste to cleansers both for your home and your body, to sunscreens, cosmetics, shampoos, vitamins, energy bars..body soaps, hand soaps.
go to melaleuca.com to see what they sell.
i don't sell the products for a profit, but i do buy them for myself.
if you need more info, please feel free to email me..good luck..
My suggestion would be to consult with a pediatrician or pharmacist regarding which would be the most effective remedy for your daughter's condition. Many people here share good advice, but with issues surrounding the health of your precious child, best to go with your "best pitcher" (baseball metaphor). Ask a doctor.

One time I woke up and my hand couldn't move because it was under my pillow that I was laying on...?

Is that bad? Can I prevent that from happening? Will my hand fall off? It's moving now, obviously, but for a while I couldn't.
Answer:
You cut off the blood flow and your hand fell asleep. It wasn't tourniquet cut off, but enough to put the tissue to "sleep" for a while. Don't worry, unless your head falls asleep.
That's a form of carpal tunnel--your arm goes numb because you sleep on it. There are braces you can buy at pharmacies that will keep your hands straight at night when you are sleeping.
come on......your nerves just fell "asleep"........nothing you can really do about it other than switching your sleeping position......i actually think its neat when that happens.....execpt for the burning and throbbing sensation of feeling coming back into your hand and arm.....lol
You simply slowed the blood flow to that hand by putting pressure on the artery in the wrist. It is not fatal. Uncomfortable, but not fatal and your hand will not fall off.
IT HAPPENS I DEAL WITH IT EVERY MORNING IN BOTH MY HANDS. IT SUCKS I KNOW YOU CANT MAKE A FIST OR HOLD ANY THING.
LMAO...your hilarious.... you thought your hand was gone cause it feel asleep...whoa whoa..

One of my pigeons neck has bloated out after vaccination..probably hit air sack,,has anyone any cures for this

after vaccination,, the pigeons neck feels like a baloon,,the pigeon is very healthy and it does not seem to be affecting him,,,the droppings are perfect,,if i hit an air sack is there a way for me to cure this as he cannot race in this condition....THANKS..MICK. ...vaccinated against papamoxy virus as standard...
Answer:
You need to take it to a vet, it sounds as if you did the vaccination yourself...you need to get it checked properly.
take it back to the fool who botched the injection
there could be many reasons. It could be an air sac as you are saying, although i cannot imagine where this air could have come from. Or it could be like a sort of blister....filled with tissue fluid. Anyways take him to the vet while he is still unaffected by it...its a good thing that his droppings are no different and his behavior is normal. Take advantage of this and go to a vet asap before it gets worse.
get it in the pie!

One of my friends found out just found out she has cancer?

A couple of months ago one of my friends found out she has cancer and the doctors said that there are satellites or something that starts with an "s" growing around the cancer cells. Does anyone have any idea as to what this could be or anything about it?
Answer:
The term refers to the smaller cluster of lesions or tumor nodules surrounding the primary cancer (smaller tumors circling the biggest).
there are many answers at the american cancer society website. check there for info. my best to your friend.
Try Vitamin C therapy. A few years ago a cancer researcher came out with a paper saying that the best cancer and infection fighter as yet found was Interferon, but, at the time, it cost $15,000 a gram. The good part was that Interferon was a product of the natural breakdown of Vitamin C in your system. The FDA says that the RDA for Vit C is 64 mg a day, just enough to prevent scurvy. Linus Pauling, who got a Nobel Prize for his work with Vit C and a second Nobel Prize for organic chemistry, said 1000 mg a day as a minimum and 2000 mg a day if you are sick. On a personal note, I was sick twice a year, for 2 weeks at a time, for 20 years, and was flat on my back for at least a week each time. To this day the doctors have no idea what the problem was. After I gave up on the doctors I tried Vit C. I took enough to keep from being sick and just below too much to get diarrhea. It followed a bell curve over 2 weeks with a peak at 40,000 mg a day 鈥?about 300,000 over the 2 weeks. I was not sick for those 2 weeks and after a couple of years of that I have not been sick since. I did not dissolve my kidneys, as some doctors said would happen. I did not get any calcium build up or stones and did not dissolve my cones or solidify my joints. Try it, but drink a lot of water 鈥?Vit C is a natural diuretic.

One for the doctors out there, HELP!!!?

I had shingles, and i'm sure i don't need to explain shingles.
Anyway, is it possible to have shingles agian because i miss at least i think 3 weeks of school and i'm in yr 11 and i don't want to miss out on my education because i want to be nurse. If so how often.
Answer:
Yes, unfortunately it can come back. Remember not to touch it, because it can appear in other places in addition to your first sight of breakout. You need to ask your doctor to get you on some acyclovir or another drug used for the "herpes" type virus. If you find that you break out often with the shingles-you can ask your doctor if he/she would consider putting you on a year of taking the meds on a daily basis.-sometimes this actually helps you from getting another flair up. Also, try to always keep the medication handy, because you usually get tingly sensations before the shingles appear- starting the meds right away can either prevent the outbreak or at least lessen the severity. My husband had this on his waist line all the way around his stomach and up his back - I've seen how painful it is. My grandmother had it on her forehead and down the side of her face around her eye. Its just awful.- they both used this medication and continue to do so when needed.
Yes, you can have another episode of the shingles numerous times. Stress can cause them also.. You might want to see if your doc can give you antiviral drugs if it becomes more often.
It is possible to have shingles again, there are antivirals that you can use during the itchy prodrome that can prevent another outbreak. It's an annoying virus because it lodges itself inside the nerve roots and hides out in there, but it does respond quite well to antivirals.
I had this once a long time ago, but it was also in addition to a staff infection. It was miserable. The doctor gave me an anahistomine (sp). I scarred too on my torso area but they faded with time.
The medical book states Shingles is the result of infection by the "varicella zoster virus", the virus that causes chickenpox.
During an attack of chickenpox the virus may invade the root of a nerve in the brain stem or spinal cord. It lies dormant for years, until it is reactivated. Then the virus multiplies and produces intense knifelike pain. It also causes a rash in the form of groups of blisters on the skin that lies above the nerve. It is not known what activates the dormant varicalla zoster virus.
It states further that a doctor can prescribe "acyclovir" an antiviral medication to speed recovery.
If your face is affected be very sure you are careful especially around the eyes.
Some people claim that this can also be stress related? I'm not sure about that. You need to boost your immune system and the best way to do that is to CUT OUT the sugar. I'm talking about processed foods ok, this means everything man made...cookies, cold sugared cereals.jello, you name it, if it has sugar in it,,,,,don't eat it....sucrose, dextrose, fructose, anything with "ose" don't eat it...And I know you don't want to hear this either....but also cut out all carbonated sugar,(also diet) soda.
Your health is your best asset for your life.
You don't have to have a re-occuring problem with this. I never have!!!
My last piece of advice....Look into naturopathic health care.
My sister is 59 and in May will become a CERTIFIED NUTRITIONAL THERAPIST. I am so proud of her and she has helped me so much...
Best regards, always. Joan

Once you quit smoking do your lungs eventually heal from the damage that smoking did to them?

Answer:
Go the website for the lung association - they say that there is healing after you quit.
I don't think so, but not smoking is way better than smoking.
Depends on the length of time, amount of cigarettes you smoked, your age and other factors. Some healing can occur. Keep up the good work!
yes
Im told that they can and do heal quite a bit, but it takes time....it also depends on your age, and how much and how long you smoke...also not everyone who smokes gets lung damage..and sometimes it can take 40 or more years to develope it if you do.
I don't have any personal experience in this category, but I'm almost positive that your lungs will never completely be the same as before. But if you quit smoking, no more damage will be added to what is already done. I would definitely quit smoking; smoking can kill you!
once you smoke, your lungs will never be the same. if you stop, your lungs could heal somewhat, but never back to the never smoked before status.
No , you are smart if you quit smoking at a young age. I smoked for 50 years and am feeling it now. I quit a couple of times for a year or so when I was younger and my lungs did not heal
Your lungs typically will not repair themselves.....when you smoke you damage the air sacks in your lungs, once this damage occurs they cannot be repaired, however your age can be a large factor in this decision, since the longer you smoke the more air bags are damaged. There is alot of controversy over the healing of the lungs after quitting smoking, so far scientifically there hs been no sure cure found to repair the damaged lungs
Some claim that it can take 10 years, some claim never If you quit and do some exercise you will feel better than before you quit

Once you are introduced to a virus or bacteria, how long does it take for you to feel sick?

Answer:
i think it depends on which virus or bacteria it is. each one has a different incubation period from what i understand.
Depends on the virus or bacteria. Not all multiply/grow at the same rate.
This depends greatly on the organism in question. For example, a cold usually starts causing symptoms about three days after initial infection. However, other diseases may take only hours, or up to months or even years.

On my left hand little finger has lost feeling as has part of ring finger also side of hand ? if nerve proble?

I have had a slight numbness to tip of little finger for a while but since using a keyboard for the past three weeks it has worsened. I actually am right handed but tend to rest my left elbow and wrist on my worktop.
Answer:
This is caused by ULNAR NERVE (C8 %26 T1) compression at the level of the elbow (near the funny bone) or near the wrist. From your description it appears to be caused by the resting of your left elbow on your worktop. It is quite common among students who adopt this posture quite commonly....though this is not the 'student elbow'. It is more common in thin individuals who lack the buffering pad of fat behind the elbow. There is no problem and the treatment is completely different from the Median Nerve compression of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Surgery is NOT indicated. You need to1. avoid pressure on and around the elbow and forearm - an elbow support pad may help 2. warmth and massage in the area 3. vitamin B complex supplement .If it persists too long you must consult your doctor
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
I have this in both hands as well as Cubital Tunnel(in teh elbow and affects the other fingers).
There are gel pads you can get that sit in fron tof teh keyboard that might help, wrist braces that sometimes do as well.
sorry gona have to cut of the fingers or else it will spread to whole body and you will die with 7 days but you will get a phone call to confirm this. Then when you put the TV on it will go fuzzy and a wierd lady will come out and grab you then rape you then kill you.
Please visit your G.P. They will be able to help you.
I had the exact same thing not too long ago, I too wondered if it was because of how I rested my hand and wrist whilst at the computer. I lost the feeling in my little finger, ring finger and part of the middle finger. It went away after about 2 weeks and I have been fine ever since.
Take up Tai chi, this is because I belive alot of people are using thier computers for a long time. My story is that i had numb thumbs and fingers and i could not work out why... When i took up Tai chi the numbness disapeared and its all about how you use your body day in and day out... So look up Tai Chi, it will do you alot of favours. There is a DVD on amazon that you can buy and that will sort your problem out. best of luck
i had the same thing, and after several weeks
it went away. i think it was the way i was sleeping
on my arm.
I think you should get a proper opinion. I disagree with Betsy. The classic symptons od Carpal Tunnel Syndrome include middle two fingers. The little finger is invariably unaffected as it is served by a separate nerve which does not travel through the Carpal Tunnel.
One person has already answered with Carpal Tunnel. I have your symptoms exactly. Have been for electronic testing - result CT in both wrists. Left hand is worse than the right. Now waiting to see surgeon about going under the knife - Yuk! I hate the idea, but it's been like it now since the end of December.
Go to your doctor he may suggest a wrist splint to see if this helps at all. Good luck!
Well I can tell you what you don't have, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.Due to the fact that the nerves in your little finger and the out side of you ring finger do not run through the carple tunnel, only the nerves in you thumb, index, pointer and the other half of you ring finger do.You might have tendinitis. But you best bet is to see a doctor, that way you can know for sure and they can develop a treatment plan for you.
I agree with probably not carpal tunnel. I have similar thing. I am pinching a nerve in my back and going to phy therapy. While I was there i asked about problems with my wrist and hands. I sculpt, knit etc. You probably have inflammation from over use. He told me to practice with those squeezy things and do puppet movement with my hand. You can go to some one who can show you how to use your hands properly. I learned I flex or over extend. my thumb in -opening cans, kniting rather than keeping joints in my fingers rounded. I think just rest and tweeking the way you do things you'll be fine.
The 4th and 5th fingers are affected by the ulnar nerve, which can be interrupted by pressure at the elbow or the chest area (e.g. thoracic outlet syndrome). From your description it would appear that as you lean your elbow on the desk, so you affect your ulnar nerve and this appears to be why you have these symptoms. You might try to alter the resting position of your elbow and wrist/hand. There are many reasons for numbness in the 4th and 5th fingers and, if an adjustment to your elbow and hand position has no positive result, you should be aware of the other possible causes - Finger paresthesias, Paresthesias. Nerve injury. Diabetic neuropathy. Multiple sclerosis. Cervical spondylosis. Peripheral vascular disease. Alcoholic neuropathy. Guillaine-Barre syndrome. SACD. Frostbite. Leprosy. Panic attack. Should the symptoms persist after a period of time following your re-adjustment of the position of your elbow etc, you would be advised to seek advice from your doctor.
Hope this helps

you could have carple tunnel syndrome or a pinched nurve please go see you doc he might recomend having an EMG it call tell you exactly what it is

Oligodendroglioma tumour?

Answer:
It's a type of brain tumor. You can find more information about this tumor at CancerBackup:Oligodendroglioma
http://www.cancerbackup.org.uk/cancertyp...NCI: Adult Treatment for Oligodendroglioma
http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/t...
Yes it is a type of brain tumor. There are many different varieties of brain tumors, including astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, etc. They are named according to the type of brain tissue they come from: oligodendrocytes, astrocytes, etc. Depending on the way the tissue looks under the microscope, pathologists can grade these brain tumors from grade 1 (low grade) through grade 4 (high grade). Grade 4 is also commonly known as glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).

Ok, i have a skin irritation problem...?

ok, well, ive noticed that this only really happens when i get hot, or when i feel my skin and its really oily.... like, when working out, perspiring, or when jsut in plain heat. my skin gets really itchy.. and, if i scratch it, it happens a lot worse, but i get like a rash sort of like poison ivy all over where itches.... but, really only when im hot or flustered or something. im a male. and, well, it goes away if i cool down... like, i was in a store, and it happened, the mall acctually.... i got out of there, and its winter, and it was cold. by the time i got into the car, it was gone..... does anyone know what it might be?i can post more details if necesary
Answer:
You might want to see a physician so that they can diagnose your condition. It's possible you might have Rosacea. Flare-ups have been associated with alcohol, spicy foods, citrus, hot beverages, tobacco, and sun exposure. There are many websites that you can research such as http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-t...
I would see a doctor!!
I get the exact same thing.
Its just your body reacting to the cold and heat and your blood vessels expanding and contracting to that.
There's not a whole lot you can do about it, at least, not that I have found.
It does get a little better with age. Best of luck!
you might have eczema..

OK I've been doing a project on HIV/AIDS and I've got a question to ask on it.?

ok here goes! If the HIV/AIDS virus weakens your immune system and makes you susceptible to infections, would people who have the virus be given vaccinations. because some vaccinations are in fact a small dosage of the same illness they're trying to avoid you getting. In other words they are infecting you to cure you. For example small pox and those kinds of things.
Answer:
No, the virus in the vaccines are not complet they don't have the power to put you sick, they are diseabled! In 70% are only specific enzymes and/or disabled virus to the immune sistem recognise if in the future you get it.
Vaccines can't put you ''really'' sick, the only side effect is the immune reaction that can cause rash, fever, etc, but not disease
Very true: smallpox vaccine was the key to practically eradicating that disease in Western societies. In fact, smallpox is has been eliminated to the point that most people (in the U.S. anyway) under the age of 35 have not even been vaccinated.Vaccines work by exposing the patient to a version of the infectious organism that has been weakened (to varying degrees, and in different ways, depending on the disease), so that the body can produce the proper antibodies and other immuno-response mechanisms to fight off the disease, both immediately post-vaccine and in the future. Ideally, the patient never gets "sick," because the body's immune system responds faster than the weakened organism can multiply. In some cases, though, the body's response is not *quite* fast enough, and the patient does get "sick," although *usually* the results are not ultimately harmful or fatal, and the patient is immune to the disease thereafter. However, HIV is rather unique, in that its replication processes are very inaccurate. So inaccurate, in fact, that many, many individual HIV viruses are just *slightly* different (genetically speaking) from their immediate predecessors. In other words, the virus mutates at an exponential rate - and there can be thousands of *slightly* different "strains" of the virus in a single patient. The body's immuno-response systems are keyed to recognizing an invader by its genetic code. But the HIV virus mutates so fast that by the time the body responds, there are dozens or even hundreds of other "strains" for which the body does not have an effective answer. As a result, formulating an effective vaccine has proven very difficult - impossible, as of yet. Scientists and doctors all over the world are working on such a vaccine, but that is - at least - several years (possibly as many as 10) away from success.
I wouldn't call the HIV/AIDS vaccination a vaccination at all. You see the "vaccination" only serves as a treatment and it is impossible to cure HIV or AIDS. People who have this infection or disease has to live with it the rest of their life. It's very sad, but with treatments people these days with HIV or AIDS can live the same amount of years a person without it can.

Ok i know this sounds werid and im goin to school with a "black eye" but its not real i need help! fast!

ok today im goin to school with a "black eye" but its not real. I need an excuse to have it. Its complicated to explain. I need postitive reasons to have it. not like this guy punched me or beat me up so that the school will call the police. i need help!
Answer:
SAY YOU FELL DOWN THE STAIRS..
THATS WHAT I ALWAYS TELL MY KIDS TO SAY TO THEIR TEACHERS SO I WONT GET IN TROUBLE.LOL!
Tell your principal that your dad beat the hell out of you! :)
You got it in a kickboxing class you attend. Or just boxing. Something along those lines.
I tripped and fell onto a tree stumpWhile in a crowd I was bumped with an elbow right in my eyeSomeone was telling a joke and using their hands to describe it and accidently wacked me in the eye with their hand!
your lil bad *** cousin swing a bat...????....lol...I dont know dude you just gonna have to fess up....
tell people you were playing soccer and turned around and ran into someones shoulder.
It's only weird because you think we'll help you with a convincing LIE without even telling us the TRUTH? Aren't we your friends? No matter what, won't the school call your parent(s) to confirm what happened?
So, what happened?
Looks like you're getting lots of help after all...but what really happened?
If you don't want the school to call the police then don't explain anything. You didn't say why you are going to school with a fake black eye.
screw the black eye thing ~ just tell the principle to call the POLICE for whatever reason!
I once got a black eye when I went down a waterslide with goggles on. It was a good shiner too...and I went to my first day of 2nd grade with this huge black eye. But I think maybe you should just tell the truth. And what if the school does call your parents to confirm what happened.

Ok i just had a baby 4weeks ago have pregnant diabetes will it go awya soon?

well sitll have my sure is 113 in the moring is thate rilly bad
Answer:
Congrats on your new baby!!During pregnancy it is called gestational diabetes,It usually goes away after giving birth, I had border-line. talk with your Dr. to be safe....
its not that bad but it shouldnt be that high but dont freak if it goes past 120 dont be surprized if you in the hospital
While gestational diabetes generally goes away after delivery, women who get it face about a 50 percent risk of developing diabetes later in life and also have a 50 percent chance of gestational diabetes in another pregnancy. Starting a weight loss and exercise program after delivery can help reduce your risk.
I had a gestational diabetes scare with my son at that time i didn't know that much about it so I did some research. Babycenter.com helped and also talk to your Dr. It should go away after birth just make sure you try to eat fiber and vegetables fruits things of that sort and not to much sugar and slowly move back into exercise (slowly) I know it can be hard trying to eat right because you still have some of those pregnancy cravings :~) Congrats on the little one
A fasting level of 113 is pretty good. You have to keep a close watch on this. Most woman that get gestational diabetes, usually continue to have problems with sugar. Please have your doctor monitor yours closely. When I had this back in 1995, my doctor did not follow me very well, and I am living with Diabetes this very day. Blood sugar is not under tight control, but we are working on it. You should check your fasting level. Then do a check 2 hours after you eat. You also can visit www.ada.org and see what they state as the normal range is and contact them and ask them this same question and see what their response is. Sometimes, it will go away. I hope it does for you, but if it doesn't, don;t worry--although it is not curable, it is treatable.

Ok i have this like little bumps on my balls?

You cant see the bumps unless the skin is strched out and then they are like whiteish a little light then skin color and can barley feel them they feel like a tiny bumps, i am a virgin and have only made out with a girl so i dont have genital wats or HPV do i?
Answer:
I have a similar thing right now, actually. I know it's neither warts nor herpes. Probably just follicle swelling. Takes a few days to go down and happens occassionally. You'll be fine. It's quite normal.
most likely ingrown hairs.....relax
No, what you have is normal and nothing to worry about. They are fatty spots. Leave them alone and they wont cause you any problems.
u can stillm get checked if u are worried even if u r a virgin, but hey could be ingrown hairs.
Most likely ingrown hairs. But there is a possibility that they can also been fatty benign tumors. Go to your doctor and have them checked out.
Sounds like hair follicles

Oh no i washed my face with soap!!!!?

i washed my face with soap and i scrubed to hard and know i have to big scars on my face i was wondering if there anything that i can do to clear the scars and how long will they take to clear???? also should i continue using my proactiv please help me!!!!!
Answer:
Can we say too much sugar or caffine? Soap does not cause scars.
how hard were you scrubbing? jeez!! it's your face be gentle!!Here's what I know about proactive. It "works" for celebs but not your every day person. I've had many friends try it and it hasn't worked. However it can take months for it to actually start working..I'm talking up to 6 months for it to even start to show the slightest improvement. So unless you have that kind of money to spend than I would quit using it.Try getting a sensitive skin product.
yes use the proactive
just scrub that hard
so wait
Proactive lies. It's all lies.
Take a vitamin E pill:
Stick a pin in the end:
Squeeze out the vitamin E oil:
Put the oil on the scar:
Do this several times a day and or night:
The scar will fade:
Honest!

Off Balance?

A while back I smoked some weed with friends, nothing new, and the following morning I was off balance. It took about a day or so for that feeling to pass, but since then I have had problems with my ears being stuffed from time to time, and most recently a sinus infection. What caused that initial feeling of being off balance? Is it related to my now mild off balance condition that may be inner ear related? Do I just have to wait and see if my ears will open up and my balance comes back? Overall, I just wonder if the weed caused this, because in the past I have never had a reaction like that. Thanks for any comments and info.
Answer:
I have never smoked weed and I still have a balance (equalibrium) problem. I also have sinus problems. I think sinus/balance are realted more than the weed/balance relationship. You could also have just an inner ear problem totally independent of both sinus infections or weed. If the infection was bad and not treated properly, you may have permanent damage to the inner ear and your balance will be affected for the rest of your life.
everyones body is different, and has different effects
if you worried talk to a doctor, but from personal experience, no this should not be related to smoking weed...............
I suppose it's possible that it contributed to the problem. Maybe it's the type of weed, or where it came from, or what it may have been tainted with. It's possible it's a one time thing, or will only happen on occasion. Who knows. Smoking in general causes sinus problems for me, and gives me headaches. The off-balance problem can probably be attributed to the sinus problem as well, which could affect your ears, since your ears, nose and throat are all connected. I have allergies, and this year in particular, they have been bad. I've had sinus drainage and headaches, coughing on and off, dizziness and my ears feel like they're clogging up sometimes or need to be popped. If you haven't tried taking any medicine yet, you might try sinus/allergy medication or something like mucinex to help loosen up mucus. I'd lay off the weed for a while too, until you're better at least. If you don't feel your condition improving soon, a trip to the doctor might be what you need.
strange...maybe you swapped germs with your friends.
I don't know a lot about the subject, but did you get the weed from a different supplier? Do you really trust whoever supplied it to you? It could have had some substances that shouldn't be there but added weight to it so it drives up the cost. In other words, it wasn't "pure". How do you ever know what's in drugs you buy (illegal) unless you produce it yourself. I am not encouraging that. It's a risk all persons who use take perhaps without realizing it. You could be very lucky that is the only side effect you have. Good luck.

Nutritional analysis for aloe vera?

Answer:
Extensive research since the 1930's has shown that the clear gel has a dramatic ability to heal wounds, ulcers and burns by putting a protective coating on the affected areas and speeding up the healing rate. The plant is about 96% water. The rest of it contains active ingredients including essential oil, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, enzymes and glycoproteins. Modern healers have used it since the 1930's. Many liquid health treatments are made, some combining aloe juice with other plants and herbs. The juice is soothing to digestive tract irritations, such as colitis and peptic ulcers. As a food supplement, aloe is said to facilitate digestion, aid in blood and lymphatic circulation, as well as kidney, liver and gall bladder functions. Aloe contains at least three anti-inflammatory fatty acids that are helpful for the stomach, small intestine and colon. It naturally alkalizes digestive juices to prevent overacidity - a common cause of indigestion. It helps cleanse the digestive tract by exerting a soothing, balancing effect. A newly discovered compound in aloe, acemannan, is currently being studied for its ability to strengthen the bodies natural resistance. Studies have shown acemannan to boost T-lymphocyte cells that aid the immune system.
Look at the label or search for aloe vera nutritional information.
