On-screen smoking???

e.g. i am a former heavy smoker. there must be numerous stage/screen stars in similar circumstances. so if the part, character requires them to smoke do they use substances other than nicotine? after all every ex-smoker knows how difficult it was to kick the habit and it may well require only a puff or two to become addicted again
Answer:
When I have been in plays where a character had to smoke , and the part was played by a non smoker, they used 'herbal' cigarettes - which were apparently so disgusting that the actors were tempted to use the real thing instead!
they have props that look like the real thing and even gives off smoke using vegetable oil and a battery.
Alright first try better grammar. It's hard to udnerstand what you're asking. Anyways, you might have built tolerance, but chances are if you take more puffs you'll get re-addicted.
First of all stop the smoking. and then ask.
unsure of the answer but two really stupid answers-one regarding grammar ,where that particular gentleman can't spell or punctuate, the other hasn't read the question properly where the asker has stated "former heavy smoker".will ponder the question some more.
